"My first time watching unclose was during their sound check in 2015, in Tokyo, Japan we were on the same bill, and watching just their soundcheck blew me away, they actually "performed" during soundcheck, needless to say, their show during the actual performance that night, was even more electrifying.
The band fully complimented Rei's onstage theatrical and extremely emotional performance.
Naoki's tight riffs and melodic solos flew nicely with the music like that of a flock of birds migrating in unison, sometimes going along with the beautiful gusts of wind that would carry it through, or sometimes giving it plenty of tension like going through an extremely tough storm.
Yu-Ra's hard hitting drumming that drives the music reminds me like that of the god of thunder, asserting his dominance in the rhythmic department, giving unclose the strong back support it needs. This band is what would be considered to me, one of the best bands to come out of Japan.”
-Brandon Khoo (Drummer / TRX Cymbals / Mapex)-
"I did not know what to expect when I first saw Unclose live.
30 seconds into their set I was already blown away.
Rei transformed from this nice backstage to a possessed performer that went all out from first note to last.
Naoki complimented her superbly with soaring guitars solos and great showmanship of his own.
Yu-Ra’s heavy beats provided the band an extra universal appeal on top of the J-rock sound that most of us already know.
From opera theatrics to a heavy metal show, Unclose brought it all within their live performance set.
I have travelled the world, watching and photographing bands, and would rate Unclose as one of the top bands I had the privilege to watch, and amazingly they are just getting started.”
